How to Connect
- Talk to your Local Authority or Regional Broadband Consortium to find out their specific advice and requirements
- Identify where video conferencing will be installed in the school
- Ensure the school network is suitably configured for video confernecing
- Buy and install appropriate equipment from reliable suppliers
- Work with the Local Authority to register the video conferencing equipment with the National Education Network service run by UKERNA - the JANET Video Conferencing Service (JVCS).
- Complete a free quality assurance video conference with JVCS.
Planning and Running a Conference
There are five stages to conducting a successful video conference. At each of these a number of tasks should take place to ensure that conferences are effective in delivering content and interaction.
These stages are:
- Well Before the Conference
- Week Before the Conference
- Just Before the Conference
- During the Conference
- After the Conference
