Interactive Whiteboard Project To support and promote the creation and sharing of teaching resources for use on interactive whiteboards. Co-ordinated by Brett Laniosh (Curriculum Support Consultant (Dudley Grid for Learning/RM) The aims of the project are to:Investigate the use of hardware independent software to create and share teaching materials for use on any interactive whiteboard. To increase effective use of interactive whiteboards. To build on developments in LEAs such as Herefordshire, Dudley and Stoke. A report on the use of interactive whiteboards by BECTA found that their use engages students to a greater extent than conventional whole-class teaching, increasing enjoyment and motivation . This project will build on the use of whiteboards in classrooms as outlined below. This project built on the BECTA report by finding ways in which teacher created resources can be saved, shared and used across the region, regardless of the whiteboard technology in use. Teachers developed whiteboard resources locally in WM schools for distribution by the WMNET portal to a local audience.
