You are part of a famous design team

  You have been asked to create a product, or to improve/alter an existing product. These will take climate change into account.
  You will need to choose whether your product will involve:
ADAPTING to climate change [eg designing a house that does not use as much water, due to possible drought];
REDUCING climate change [eg designing a car that runs on “clean fuel” that does not release carbon dioxide].
  You may find it useful to look at these products.

Image of a mad professor Wind up clockwork radio This radio runs by clockwork.  This means that you can use it almost anywhere, and that it produces no CO2.  It has been particularly successful in areas of Africa which are a long way from towns.
Solar panel bag This bag has a small solar panel on it, which collects energy from the sun.  This can be used for recharging mobile phones or other small electronic devices.  Solar energy produces no CO2.
rollover image You know how hamsters sometimes spend all night running around on their wheels?  The teenage owner of Elvis, the Somerset hamster, has rigged his wheel up to a dynamo, and is using it to recharge his mobile phone.
